Eastpointe is a managed care organization (MCO) dedicated to working with individuals and families in eastern North Carolina who struggle with substance abuse, mental health and intellectual and developmental disabilities. In partnership with community agencies, licensed independent practitioners and hospitals, we help the uninsured and those on Medicaid get comprehensive, effective treatment that is essential for their well-being.
As our members’ care advocates, we are committed to ensuring that no member falls through the cracks. We work side by side with providers and community partners to ensure our members have the medical, social, transitional and vocational support they need. We monitor quality of care and our member’s progress. We also staff a crisis support phone line that is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, 1-800-913-6109.
Every member we help is ultimately an investment in the health of our 11-county service area: Bladen, Columbus, Duplin, Edgecombe, Greene, Lenoir, Robeson, Sampson, Scotland, Wayne and Wilson counties.
Eastpointe has been recognized for its innovations and provider collaborations that improve members’ lives while lowering overall healthcare costs.
• Eastpointe is one of five NC Local Management Entities (LMEs) and MCOs awarded a grant for the High Fidelity Wraparound, an intensive, holistic program that improves lives of children with complex needs and their families. In our first year, we transitioned eight adolescents from Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) Services with zero readmissions.
• We are one of two MCOs recognized by the Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Services (DMHDDSAS) for our efforts in helping members with mental illness successfully transition to their communities.
• We continue to expand the state’s Crisis Solution Initiative in our counties. Our Crisis Collaboratives teach best practices for reducing avoidable emergency room visits and criminal-justice interventions among those suffering from behavioral health crises.
• Other Eastpointe initiatives include anti-stigma and anti-bullying programs, participation in mental health fairs, a partnership with the Traumatic Brain Injury Association of North Carolina to promote awareness of brain injury, and the annual Rally for Recovery event. Spearheaded by Eastpointe, Rally for Recovery unites partners in raising awareness of the benefits of substance-abuse recovery efforts for families and communities.
